Dr. Carter understands that for many patients, replacing teeth can be stressful and worrisome. He would like to alleviate some of that anxiety by speaking with each patient and evaluating their desires for a replacement option. During a thorough examination, Dr. Carter will be able to determine what kind of procedure you may qualify for. If you need to replace multiple teeth and have a sturdy jawbone then you may qualify for immediate hybrid denture treatment, also known as implant supported dentures.
During a preliminary consultation Dr. Carter will check your oral health for any further concerns. Then, he will take measurements and create a model of your jaw to plan your denture placement. During this time you will be able to ask any questions that you may have about the full tooth replacement process. Dr. Carter and our staff want to respond effectively to any concerns you may have regarding the entire process before we continue with your treatment plan.
At your surgical appointment, Dr. Carter will extract all of the teeth along your upper or lower gums. Once this has been performed, he will then place your immediate hybrid dentures in the same visit. The advantage of using this specific type of denture is that the process takes one visit and you will not have to experience a toothless mouth between having your teeth extracted in one appointment and receiving your replacement teeth the next.
Immediate hybrid dentures can be crafted to appear natural for your appearance, but are able to be enhanced after they are placed. You shouldn’t have to make extreme diet changes to adjust to them either. Please note that these cannot be removed like conventional dentures – they are permanently affixed to your jawbone using dental implants. Only Dr. Carter or one of his staff has the ability to remove immediate hybrid / implant supported dentures. This benefits wearers because they are secure and permanent.
